Cryptolog ExaCard

ExaCard is the commercial name of Cryptolog's patented software-only virtual smart card technology. ExaCards are securely stored on a Cryptolog Unicity server and used by the client-side applications Cryptolog Unicity plug-in, Cryptolog WebPass and Cryptolog Universal Token Environment (CUTE) to perform a whole range of operations, including strong authentication, email encryption, digital signature and more -- exactly like a physical smart card or USB token.

With an ExaCard, security and freedom of movement are no longer incompatible.

A virtual smart card?

Companies and organizations wishing to deploy a Digital Identity Management System (DIMS) with which to authenticate their digital transactions and communications and make them more secure now have a third option when it comes to securely working with private keys and digital certificates.

Traditionally, choice has been limited to either equipping each end user with an (often expensive) physical device -- a USB token or a smart card -- that must be connected directly to a PC to retrieve the relevant data, or storing all keys and certificates on each user's local machine, with all the security issues and lack of flexibility that entails.

Now, by replacing these physical devices with a software-only solution -- what we call a virtual smart card -- through which users can interact with information stored in encrypted form on a remote server, the Cryptolog products powered by the ExaCard technology can provide you with the high level of security your organization has come to demand, without tying you or your users to costly hardware solutions.

As far as the user's computer is concerned, there is no difference between a traditional hardware smart card or a USB token and the Cryptolog solution -- all are based on identical standards and offer similar security features.
